Rescue Me ID: 17-10-15-00410Alice (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Shelters are no place for wee girls like Alice...but this little girl found herself in one. Much like the fall down the rabbit hole for the Alice in Wonderland, it was quite a terrifying experience but she seems to be settling in now that she's in a private foster home with the rescue. Alice Is a 4-year-old pug/Chihuahua. She is good with other dogs and cats. She is housetrained. She is nervous when she first meets new people. Alice would best be suited in home without small children. She is very food motivated and her foster has been working on the sit command so maybe a little more training would help with her socialization skills with ... (Read More)new people. She is affectionate and loves hugs from her special person. If someone is willing to take it slowly to get to know her she will be a great companion. The adoption fee for Alice is $350 She is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped and current on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-15-00323Lucky (male)

Pit Bull    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Lucky is a beautiful black Pitbull Terrier. At 5 years old he is a muscular 70 pounds of baby boy. He is a little fearful of men (our trainer can help with this) but he adores women and children. He is good with other dogs but as with a lot of Pitties, he is not fond of cats. Unfortunately, because his previous owner did not keep him up to date on flea and tick prevention, Lucky contracted Lyme Disease. This is a treatable disease but it will require monitoring and someone committed to learning and watching for symptoms that would indicate the need for antibiotics ASAP. Lucky's favorites include hugs and cuddling, chew toys and playing ... (Read More)ball. Be prepared to share your bed with this big lover boy because that's exactly where he wants to be at night. He does have a little separation anxiety but adores going for car rides with you and behaves very well when doing so. Baths aren't a favorite thing but he is certainly tolerant of them. To adopt this beautiful big boy, you must agree to transition training with our trainer to insure a smooth adjustment for both Buddy and you. The adoption fee for Lucky is $350. He is up to date on all vaccines, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on all flea, tick and heartworm preventatives. This loveable boy wants so much to be a part of your family. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats

Sweet, clever, affectionate and energetic. This is Buddy. An adorable brown Miniature Poodle. He is about 4 years old and less than 15 pounds and as healthy as they come. Buddy does well with other dogs and cats, (he will give chase but does back down). He hasn't been around many children to know completely how well he would do with them but we don't suspect there would be a problem. This handsome boy is very playful and sweet. He loves people and would make a perfect addition to a fun loving, active family. He is energetic but very well behaved. Buddy is also housetrained as well as crate trained. The adoption fee for this beautiful ... (Read More)little guy is $350. Shiba Inu Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dory is a fun loving, adorable little girl. (Much like the Disney character.) She is a 7 year old Shiba Inu/Pug mix and weighs about 20 pounds. She can be a little bit selective about her canine friends but she does fine with cats. She would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. Dory arrived to rescue when her people passed away. She is a sweet girl that adores her people and craves attention. She loves to cuddle and go for walks. She desperately wants to be the apple of someone's eye. She would really do best in a home as an only dog - where she can be the center of someone's universe. She loves to play with toys...and enjoys ... (Read More)a good chew bone. Dory is somewhat of a chow hound and we've put her on a good quality food and a diet since being here so that she can be at a healthy weight. She's doing well with her diet and needs a person that is committed to following through with her diet. Dory is so deserving of a forever family. She tries so hard to please everyone. Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Poogie is as cute as they come. This sweet girl is a Boston Terrier/Pug mix. Commonly called a 'Bug'. She is only 3 years old and about 18 pounds. She has a beautiful brindled coat. She has already been through enough for any dog twice her age. Poogie is a wonderful girl who arrived in rescue through no fault of her own - her human passed away and no provisions were made for her. Family dropped Poogie off in a shelter which was a terrifying experience for her. She completely shut down. We received a call to come get her. When we arrived she was hunched in a corner, paralyzed in fear. Over the next 48 hours we worked with her continuously ... (Read More)to gain her trust. Over the next week she began to decompress and settle in to her foster home. Today, she is a friendly, silly, eager to please girl. New experiences still frighten her a wee bit - but we are confident that she will continue to blossom once she has found her happily ever after. She enjoys walks, loves to cuddle and get belly rubs, she loves people and other animals. Poogie has done tremendously well with other dogs, cats and children. Silky Terrier    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The world has given us many 'Horatio's' but none as adorable and sweet as this one. Horatio is a Silky Terrier. He is an adult aged 9 or 10 and weighs about 12 pounds. He is good with other dogs and ignores the cats. He would probably do best in a home with older children as opposed to very young ones that may or may not understand boundaries. Horatio is a sweet boy that is looking for a family of his own after his parents passed away. He is an adult - not yet a senior - who still has the spunk and desire to go on walks with his special person. He does well in social environments and seems to get along with most dogs, and he ignores cats. ... (Read More)He walks well on a leash and has a spring in his step when he's out for a walk...but he's ready to cuddle up when he gets home. He is crate trained but he'll voice his discontent when he's there for a few minutes before he settles in. He has opinions about being away from his person...he is a companion dog, after all. Horatio is not currently housebroken but he's putting his best paw forward to get the job done. Such matters are easily addressed with a simple belly band - and he's familiar with them. He is well behaved and not mischievous. The adoption fee for Horatio is $350. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, Heartworm negative, micro-chipped, current on all flea, tick and heartworm preventatives. Horatio is eager to find his person and settle in to a new home. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-13-00362Cookie (female)

Pug    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Most cookies are small and sweet, but the best ones are the big ones. This girl is as sweet as any cookie you could ask for. She is also a little girl but slightly on the heavy side. Nothing a good old fashion portion control diet and exercise can't fix. Cookie is a 19 pound, 10-year-old fawn pug that is as adorable as she is sweet. She is very polite and doesn't beg for food constantly so a little weight loss shouldn't be too difficult. She is prone to bladder stones so she is prescribed Blue Buffalo Weight Management and Urinary Care. She lost quite a few teeth during her dental but she doesn't let that get in the way of enjoying her ... (Read More)meals and the occasional healthy treat. We don't know her past, but while she loves to cuddle and snuggle, she also isn't very demanding. She will humbly sit off to the side and usually wait to be invited (although when her foster mom lays on the couch for a little snooze she has learned that there is a spot for her along with the other dogs, and will come asking for a lift up). She likes to be with her people, and would probably love to sleep in her family's bed but is nicely crate trained so if that is not in the cards she will be fine. She does not bark much except when she sees her dinner being made and she happens to be on the other side of the gate- she gets very excited! When she is in the kitchen while food is being prepared she is much more patient and calm. She is beginning to want to play with toys and the other dogs in her current home. She seems to have a LOT of personality yet to give to her forever family! Cookie has started leash training and is able to take longer walks, but at this point if you are looking for a dog to walk a couple of miles with you, she is not it. When she came to her foster home, she marked a lot and did not seem to be house trained at all; she always wore a diaper for the first few weeks. She has improved immensely and has only had one accident in the last several weeks. She also seems to have very good holding power- her last out is around 8pm (and she doesn't even always go then) and she is good until 7am or so. She has never gone in her crate. She now sleeps in a more open enclosure with access to her crate and doesn't go potty in the open enclosure, either. Cookie can get a little possessive of 'her' person (the one who's lap she is on) and will sometimes get snarky with another dog who tries to get to close to her territory, but for the most part gets along with the other dogs in the foster home, however, while she would probably do okay with other dogs in the family, she would likely LOVE to be an only dog and be a spoiled little princess. Cookie's adoption fee is $250. She is current on vaccines, heartworm negative, has had a dental, spayed, microchipped and current on flea, tick and heartworm medications. Would you have room in your heart for a little Cookie that is looking for a warm lap? For more info please contact us at: adoptions@hillhounds.org (Less)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Alllviiinn! Just like the chipmunk. This adorable 10pound, 6-month old, yorkie/schnauzer mix is as loveable as he is cute. He is a bouncing, ball of energy and would definitely be best suited for an active family. This guy is happy, comical and a joy to be around. To help keep that energy focused, he would benefit greatly from a puppy kindergarten class. He does great with other dogs and kids and would very much love to have a playmate. (4 legged or 2) Alvin is fine with cats as well. We believe that Alvin was once in a home that left him for long periods of time. He gets a little anxious right before you crate him - but settles in ... (Read More)nicely and will sleep quietly through the night in a crate. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Sheeba! The Hebrew meaning of the name 'Sheeba' is 'promise', and this Sheeba promises to be a faithful, loving companion. This gorgeous 10-year-old Boston Terrier/Pug mix weighs about 15 pounds. She has cataracts that have caused her to lose most of her vision but her hearing and her sense of smell certainly make up for it. She hasn't had any trouble navigating her foster home. Sheeba does well with cats and LOVES children. She is caught often napping with her foster family's one-year old. While she spends most of her time curled up with you watching tv or reading she still has plenty of spunk left in her. Sheeba enjoys sleeping ... (Read More)in bed with her human and will spend time in her own little bed while you are busy. She does have a little trouble getting down open stairs but once taken down the stairs of the family deck she will take care of business and come bouncing back up the stairs to come back in. Sheeba is NOT a big barker unless it is to welcome you home after you have been gone. Oddly enough for a pug, she LOVES baths. This darling older lady wants nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with a family of her own. She has many, many good years left. The adoption fee for Sheeba is $275. Sheeba is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. American Staffordshire Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

People have failed Annalyce all her life. It's really quite amazing that she hasn't given up on them. She absolutely adores the family she bonds too. Annalyce was saving by a Pug rescue program because of her loving personality. She was heartworm positive at the time. After being picked up at animal control, she was whisked off to the clinic to undergo heartworm treatment. We didn't know at that time that she was days into a pregnancy. Since in rescue, Annalyce has delivered 10 puppies. All but one has survived and they are all now in their forever homes. She was a wonderful mother. We were thrilled with how loving and attentive she was to ... (Read More)such a large litter. Thankfully, this is the last litter that she will ever have to give birth to. We have attempted to piece her past together based on statements made by others - and we believe that Annalyce was used as a breeding machine and bait dog. Due to these circumstances, we will require that the home she goes to does not have children or other animals. You must be an experienced bully owner. She does love both men and women. She bonds deeply and loves attention, belly rubs and ear scratches. She is food driven but has not shown no aggression at the rescue over food. Now it is Annalyce's time. Her time to shine and become the center of someone's universe. She has finished her heartworm treatments and is now heartworm free. She will also be required to take an obedience class with her adopter following adoption to make sure she makes a successful transition into her happily ever after. Her adoption fee is $350. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meeko is an absolutely adorable 5-year-old Yorkie weighing in at 10 pounds. He doesn't seem to like young children so any home would have to have children 15 or over. He also, is not very fond of cats. Any other dog in the home would have to be pretty submissive because Meeko is convinced he is king and no one should take that place. He is making great progress with house training using puppy pads and going outside. This sweet boy is very loving. His favorite spots are perched at a window to watch the outdoor activity or sitting outside and sunbathing. He also LOVES toys. They can be stuffed and squeaky or playing fetch with a ball.     The music genre of Jazz includes the Blues which is very much like this adorable girls' life. Jazzy is a Shiba Inu/Pug mix. She is 7 years old and about 20 pounds. She is fun, playful and quite comical. Jazzy lost both of her people within a 4-year period and was surrendered to rescue recently upon the death of her human mom. She is a sweet dog that craves attention and sticks right with you. She wants to be the center of attention. She needs the reassurance that you know that she is there. Rescue Me ID: 17-09-27-00273Rob (male)

Miniature Pinscher Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Handsome Rob didn't get his name by accident. This boy might be a mix but he certainly has the classic min pin good looks. This sweet 15 pound, 11 year old fellow is every bit as active and fun as he is handsome. He does well with other dogs when supervised, is housetrained and does well with children as long as they know the appropriate boundaries necessary for a dog. Rob adores his person so much that he can become a little jealous or protective of the attention so it would be best if he were the only dog in a home. He would be an ideal companion for someone home during the day. His favorite past time is to snuggle next to you and nap. ... (Read More)Don't tell him, but he suffers from a slight gait abnormality and a little bit of weakness in his hind quarters. Rob refuses to let this anything slow him down though. Handsome Rob is loyal and affectionate. He enjoys being with his person and will follow you throughout the day, just to be in the same room. His other pleasures include being outside, going on walks or taking trips in the car. Just like some of us, he enjoys getting treats but isn't very much into toys. Rob's fee is $250. He is current on shots, neutered, heart worm free, micro-chipped and current on flea, tick and heart-worm prevention. If you have room next to you for a handsome older man, please consider adding Rob to your home. Contact Hill Hounds Rescue at%BD'%BD|http://celebratingpugs.com/ (Less)

Puff was a magic dragon but in this case, he is also a beautiful miniature poodle. This doll weighs 9 pounds and is thought to be about 5 years old. He is blind in both eyes but can quickly learn his territory and absolutely LOVES to go for walks. He has plenty of pep in his step.
