Rescue Me ID: 17-08-15-00415Moira (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Moira in ancient Greek terms means the personification of fate or destiny. This sweetheart is destined to be someone's forever lovebug. She is a 7 - 8-year-old pug mix and weighs about 23 pounds. She is mixed with a longer hair breed such as a poodle so she will require grooming from time to time. (Approx. every 2-3 months) Sweet Moira does have a thyroid condition that means that she will need a thyroid medication daily but this is generally less than $10 monthly and is easy peasy. Moira doesn't really care to share your love and attention with other dogs but she will tolerate them as long as they agree to leave her alone. If they get ... (Read More)pushy she will growl. In fact, this girly likes to express herself with her growly voice. She has even been known to tell her foster mom when it's time for bed or meals. Moira loves children of all ages. She even does well with cats. She is a little chunky due to her thyroid condition but she is learning to walk on leash and enjoys taking walks around the neighborhood. Her foster mom reports that she is a super 'cuddler' and really lives to be a lap dog. If you're looking for an adorable little dog to just lay with you and enjoy life, this is your girl. Moiras adoption fee is $350. She has been vaccinated, had a dental, wormed, micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm tested negative and he is current of flea/tick and heart worm prevention. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-15-00413Lola (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

In today's text message lingo, 'LOLA' means 'Lots Of Love and Affection' and this is our girl Lola. She is a 7-year-old chihuahua/pug mix weighing approx. 11.5 pounds. This doll hasn't met anyone or anything that she doesn't like. Lola lost her home after her dad got married and the new wife insisted she been given up to rescue due to her children's allergies. This little lady is super friendly and outgoing and meets everyone with her cute little underbite and tail wagging. Lola has just enough bounce in her to make her a great fit for an active family as well as enough lap dog to be comfy sitting by your side all day. She is very well ... (Read More)behaved. House trained and crate trained although there hasn't been a reason to crate her. She does have a crate and a bed that will follow her into her forever home to help with her transition. Lola is a Velcro dog and loves to be with her human. If you're sitting, she'd like to sit with you. If you're up and about, she wants to follow. Lola is in super health and is scheduled for a dental. Anyone would be very lucky to have this girl in their life. Don't you need a little Lola in yours? Lola's adoption fee is $350. She will have her dental, she is current on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped, tested heart worm negative and is current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention. This precious lady a lot of life and love to give. If you think that she would fit into your life and lap, please contact us at%BD'%BD|http://celebratingpugs.com/ (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-08-00547Loretta Lynn (female)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Much like the singer, our sweet Loretta Lyn hasn't always had a nice, easy path in life. This sweet lady is a chihuahua, only weighs 3 pounds and is about 8 years old. Because of her size she will need to go to a home with older children of no children. Loretta gets along well with other dogs and cats. She is partially housetrained and her foster uses a pack and play to crate her however she would probably be fine in a regular crate. She is quiet and reserved but craves affection and would be a wonderful lap dog for an older person. We would love to see her go to a home with someone that was retired and would take her with them when they ... (Read More)went out. She'd do great as a little pocket companion. She needs a quiet home with loving, attentive, patient parents. She would do wonderful with another small chihuahua as a companion but would be fine if it was just her and her person. Loretta was saved from a high kill shelter. She arrived there as a 'stray'. She was very timid and shy and did not show well there. We can't be sure of her background but wherever she was she probably wasn't shown a lot of affection as she is only learning how to accept affection after several months in foster care. Still she does not like you to get in her face (although she's not snippy.... she's just scared). Don't let any of this scare you away from this darling, sweet girl. She just needs someone to love her and show her that the world, although sometimes scary for a tiny dog, is still loving and full of adventure. Loretta Lynn would love nothing more than to have a forever home of her own. Her adoption fee is $350. She has been vaccinated, is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. She had a dental upon arrival to rescue and has very few teeth but can eat dry food mixed with a little canned. She can be a picky eater but the foster can help with some tips once adoption has been determined. This precious lady has plenty of life and love to give. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-08-00503Scooby (male)

Yorkie    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Something in my heart told me I must have you.' Words from Frank Sinatra's Strangers in The Night. Did you know that Scooby Doo got his name from this song? Well our Scooby isn't named for Scooby Doo but the words to the song make perfect sense for this loveable little man. He is a 6 pound, 10-year-old Yorkie. He is utterly adorable as he is one of those Yorkies with floppy ears, which is a very pretty frame for his face and makes him look like a puppy. While he is super cute with his fur currently groomed short, when he first came in his coat was quite long, almost covering his feet. If someone wanted to provide the care for it, he ... (Read More)could be kept long and it would be beautiful. His coloring is a pretty blue and gold. Scooby would not do well in a busy household with small children. He must always be on leash or in a very securely fenced yard as he is extremely reactive to moving vehicles (including bikes) and it's possible that if he had the opportunity he would chase them. This guy is the ultimate low-key cuddle-bug (with the exception of the above moving vehicles). He is happiest when he is napping on someone. He LOVES to be with his people, but can also be content when he isn't. He is crate trained, leash trained, house trained but will also use a pee pad), polite, and doesn't bark just to bark (will alert bark and will often bark when he REALLY has to go out to potty). Scooby has a gentle personality, doesn't require a lot of exercise but loves to go for walks. He has a charming habit of doing multiple twirls when we are getting ready to go outside- so cute! He isn't much of a toy guy, but loves to chew on small bully sticks and such. Scooby does have dry eye in his left eye (makes no tears at all) so he will need drops in that eye for the remainder of his life. (he is very good about allowing you to put the meds in). While this sweet dog is a senior at 10, he still has a ton of walks, snuggles and love in him for his new family. His adoption fee is $275. He is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and current of flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-08-00501Summer (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'It's Summer! Be free and happy and danceful and uninhibited and now.' This quote describes this beautiful, young girl. She is a chihuahua mix, possible with rough coat Jack Russel Terrior. She weighs about 9 pounds and is about 4 years old and acts very much like a much younger pup with boundless energy and uninhibited zest for life. Summer is a bouncing, friendly young girl. She would do great in a home with children and/or canine companionship. She travels well in the car. She is very much a velcro dog that wants to be wherever you are. A home with a fence or an active family that would take her on long walks would be ideal. Did I ... (Read More)mention that she has a lot of youthful energy? She is a 'door dasher' so you have to be cautious when opening doors. A gate doesn't pose as much challenge for sweet Summer either as she can scale them in no time. This girl is super smart. She is well behaved in the house if left alone but she is also crate trained. Summer would love nothing more than to share her joy for life with a family of her own. Her adoption fee is $350. She is vaccinated, spayed, HW negative, microchipped and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-08-00461Sheeba (male)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Sheeba! The Hebrew meaning of the name 'Sheeba' is 'promise', and this Sheeba promises to be a faithful, loving companion. This gorgeous 10-year-old Boston Terrier/Pug mix weighs about 15 pounds. She has cataracts that have caused her to lose most of her vision but her hearing and her sense of smell certainly make up for it. She hasn't had any trouble navigating her foster home. Sheeba does well with cats and LOVES children. She is caught often napping with her foster family's one-year old. While she spends most of her time curled up with you watching tv or reading she still has plenty of spunk left in her. Sheeba enjoys sleeping ... (Read More)in bed with her human and will spend time in her own little bed while you are busy. She does have a little trouble getting down open stairs but once taken down the stairs of the family deck she will take care of business and come bouncing back up the stairs to come back in. Sheeba is NOT a big barker unless it is to welcome you home after you have been gone. Oddly enough for a pug, she LOVES baths. This darling older lady wants nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with a family of her own. She has many, many good years left. The adoption fee for Sheeba is $275. Sheeba is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. It will be important to keep her on a grain free diet due to allergies but this is readily available. Rescue Me ID: 17-07-17-00002Little Man (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Introducing Lil Man. This adorable 2-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix weighs all of 14.5 pounds and is a ball of energy. He absolutely would adore a home with children and or other dogs to run and play with. He gets along well with cats and loves playing with other dogs. This lover boy also enjoys his chew bones and toys. He is housebroken but does not do well in a crate. (Just too hard to contain his enjoyment of life.) Lil Man also loves his human's attention so much that he has a slight amount of separation anxiety when you're gone but he does so much better if he has another 4-legged pal to keep him company. Lil Man does have ... (Read More)some allergy related skin issues and will need to receive a tablet of Apoquel daily for life as well as be fed a grain free diet. Both are very easy to administer and readily available. This sweetheart was previously used as a breeder stud and was to be dumped into the woods. Fortunately, he found his way to rescue instead. He is truly a well behaved, lovable, obedient lil guy that would absolutely LOVE to find his forever family. His adoption fee is $350. He is vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped and is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Are you the family that Lil Man is looking for? Rescue Me ID: 17-07-16-00505Chester (male)

Yorkie    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

This handsome ball of fur is as lovable as he is loving. Chester is a great Yorkie mix, 2 years old and about 11 pounds. The vet says he is a perfect specimen, lean and athletic. He is working on house training and crate training and doing well. He loves children and other dogs but it's unknown how her would get along with cats. This youngster is full of energy and really needs to have a family that will be able to walk him often or kids to play in a yard with. A couple of his favorite games are fetch and playing frisbee. He might even make a great hiking partner. If Chester doesn't get enough exercise he can become bored and turn to ... (Read More)mischief to cure that boredom. Bully sticks and a stuff able Kong help to curb some of that misguided energy as well. He enjoys any kind of tough chewable toys. This sweet boy would probably have trouble containing his zest for life if he were to be crated for 8-9 hours a day so maybe a stay at home human or someone that only works part time would be best. Unless the opportunity to attend a doggy day care where he could play and burn energy is an option. Chester is a dog that is extremely affectionate- this is a dog that will gaze lovingly into your eyes and give you a little lick. He loves to snuggle with his people on the couch (or perch behind you on the back of the couch). He gets a lot of enjoyment playing with other dogs, wrestling and tussling- he sometimes is so enthusiastic that forgets his doggy manners and is too direct and 'in your face' for the other dog's comfort. Fortunately, he pays attention to warnings from other dogs and will back off- he is not one to start scrapping. He also loves to play fetch and Frisbee with his humans. Chester is very intelligent and attentive to his humans. He is also a good guard dog and will bark to alert (we are in the process of learning to stop the barking when I check and say 'thank you'). He is truly a fun-loving, easy going boy who will make someone a loyal and entertaining companion. His foster jokes that he is part kangaroo because of the way he leaps and frolics when he is running- he has powerful back legs. With his intense, soulful eyes, half-an-under bite and his one ear up/one ear down, he is an endearing little guy. Chester is learning to walk very nicely on the leash (currently using an Easy Walk), and has a perky little march with his head and his tail held high. He has longish fur which is easy to maintain and doesn't seem to tangle at all. While Chester would be fine as an only dog, his friendly, good-natured, playful, dog-loving personality makes him perfect for someone looking for a playmate for their current dog. He would really be on the moon if he found himself with a canine best friend as well as a family to love and protect. Chester's adoption fee is $350. He has been vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested negative and he is current of flea/tick and heartworm prevention.     Meet Sabrina. This very sweet, loving girl is a Pug/Jack Russel mix. She is approximately 2 years old, about 28 pounds and house trained. This sweet girl is a little timid and shy at first, but once she's given a little time to warm up to you she is quite the lover. She does not really do well in a crate so foster mom suggests leaving her in a gated area when you have to be gone. (i.e. Bathroom, kitchen, bedroom) Sabrina adores children and could play all day with chew toys. She is not very good with other dogs because she gets very protective of her person. Sabrina craves attention and love and wants to soak it all up on her own. Her ... (Read More)current foster is unsure about cats because there aren't any in the home. Rescue Me ID: 16-02-22-00588Henry (male)

Foxhound    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Henry, oh Henry! This friendly, silly, sometimes clumsy boy will steel your heart fast. He is a tricolor, 2-year-old, neutered Foxhound weighing in at about 50 pounds. He is great with cats or other dogs about his size. He would probably be OK with a smaller dog if an experienced owner introduced him to a 'sturdy' small dog. He doesn't hurt them but his silly antics and occasional clumsiness might put the other dog at risk of energy. Henry was saved from a shelter in VA. He was abandoned by a hunter - we think it's because he is visually impaired. He is almost completely blind - and now has a mature cataract in one eye. He gets around very ... (Read More)well when he learns the 'lay of the land' but he does need a seeing eye person when out on walks. Henry is very friendly and loves people. Ideally, Henry should go to a home that has an active family that will either walk him or that has a fenced yard where he could run with supervision. Henry is playful, comical and silly ...and loves attention. He enjoys a good chew bone...and has learned to play with toys. He does not get in to things around him except for the 2 pair of shoes that he chewed...because his foster mom left them out where they were confused for toys...and they were leather. He hasn't chewed any other shoes - just leather. I believe it was a case of 'mistaken identity' due to vision. We think that smaller children could startle Henry with fast movements and noises and they would be at a level to be right in his face - which would be scary for Henry therefore a home with slightly older children might be best. A one level home is problem best for Henry. We do crate him at night and he does enjoy sleeping in his 'room' - we only due this so that he doesn't get himself in a pickle. Henry is not a good candidate for an older person...or someone with disabilities. He is very strong and can be very silly on a leash at times. He is a hound and will pull you to where he wants to relieve himself.... which in his fosters yard, is an acre away with his modest behind in the bushes. This gentle giant didn't seem to learn some things as a pup, probably because of his eye sight. Since his placement in the rescue he has learned to enjoy belly rubs and toys. He does stress a little in the car and will not lay down. His preferred travel position is to stand on the floor of the back seat. During his day to day adventures this goofball will not sit down. He either lays or stands. In fact, if an adopter were to ever get him to sit or catch it, we would very much like a picture. Lol Henry is one big, lovable, gentle boy that really wants a home of his own where he can soak up all of the love you have to give. His adoption fee is $350. He is vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. If you have a lot of love and attention to give a silly boy, Henry is your guy.
